Are you afraid to make a move? Do you feel held back? Sometimes we can be the greatest force of holding ourselves back in life. But we can learn how to find confidence when our minds have already defeated us.
Listen in as Kathi interviews Lynn Cowell and they discuss the concepts in her new book, Make Your Move ~ Finding Unshakable Confidence Despite Your Fears And Failures. Join in the conversation and be inspired to make your move from a place of paralyzing fear to an unshakable confidence in God’s promises.
**BONUS** Leave an answer in the comments section: “What would I be doing if I was not afraid?” and we will randomly pick three people in this next week to get a free copy of Lynn Cowell’s book.
In this six-session Bible study (DVD/digital video sold separately), author and Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker Lynn Cowell explores how confidence-in-question keeps us from boldly experiencing what God intends for our lives. Dive into six stories in the Bible of not-so-well-known women who found themselves needing confidence to make their move, and how they uncovered the faith to get it. Lynn encourages women to leave behind all the unnecessary insecurity this world induces and find confidence in God alone.
Learn from the Daughters of Zelophehad, the Women of Exodus, the Sisters of Bethany, Rahab, Debora, Abigail and Michal how to:
- Intentionally build your confidence on the one thing that cannot be taken from you.
- Recover from defeating decisions to move forward toward a strong self-worth.
- Position yourself to not lose your poise—even in the worst circumstances.
- Identify and address the fears that keep you stuck, with practical steps to walk in your calling with confidence.
This study is for any woman who’s ready to dig into God’s Word to find confidence and boldness to do great things. This book includes personal Bible study as well as group discussion questions. The study can be completed by individuals as well as in groups.
Designed for use with the companion Make Your Move Video Study (sold separately).
I SO needed to hear this today, Kathi and Lynn. Lately the overwhelmed of my daily life has robbed me of any hope of becoming what I want to be and feel called to be. I’ve felt so weary. And as I was doing some computer work, I found this title and played in while I worked. Thank you so much. It encouraged me to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
Thank you so much for this! It was exactly what I needed to hear at this time. I’ve been meditating on Galatians 5:1- it is for freedom that Christ has set you free – and this message just confirmed what God was trying to tell me through that. That he has called me to a new ministry role and because of fear I haven’t jumped in fully – I haven’t stepped out into his freedom! Thanks again- from your Facebook MOMcon friend that looks like your real-life friend. lol!
What would I be doing if I was not afraid? I’m going through some transition in my life right now, so have had to think about this before your podcast. It’s God’s timing that I happened to listen to your podcast right now. There is no such thing as coincidences. It’s all God’s timing. What would I be doing (what I plan on doing when the timing is right)?
Getting involved with mens ministry
Playing drums in the worship team
Traveling the country
Buying and decorating my own home.
I would be doing voice-overs and recording audio books…and worshiping by painting really large canvases.
If I wasn’t afraid ,I’d be singing for the Lord, writing a book and being a guest speaker all over the world.
I would be running my own business, as I was trained to do in college. But my fear of failure holds me back, now so many years out of the workforce. I can’t seem to get it together to start, even though my youngest is 12. I feel like I’m waiting for that 100% readiness instead of 60% or 40% you talked about.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Can’t wait to get it and read it! Sent you an email reply.
I would most likely be writing my next book that the world tells me I might not be qualified/experienced enough to write. On my week/insecure days I make notes and stick them in a file. On my strong days I say, “Get behind me satan.” (And no, he does not get a capital letter.)
That torturing fear! What would I be doing? I would be resting more fully as God’s cherished daughter who is bathed in His Great Love. My past tends to disrupt navigation with feelings of being set up for failure because my obedience requires beyond the stretching of my faith. In my Fabulous Fifties, God has asked this Grammy Tammy to sojourn with Him being an advocate for justice and His Word. Let me share, even though I know He has gone out before me and is preparing the way while holding my hand step by step telling me not to fear, I literally tremble and want to vomit. Talk about panic attacks! My Lord is actually trying to fulfill the desires of my heart. I always wanted to be an attorney. He is now showing me that I should be marching forward like Abigail did in 1 Samuel 25, realizing that GOD WILL TAKE VICTORY that can only be accomplished through His grace and Spirit and I’m just His beautiful and intelligent vessel. Who knows, maybe I’ll get blessed with meeting my new husband like King David. Oh my! Heart be still!
Loved the podcast — thanks so much. If I weren’t so afraid I’d be writing children’s books. I’ve had the dream forever, well, a long time anyway.

I would travel more with my kids. (Ages 11 & 7) Travelling with them has always been more of a burden, so I tend to stay closer to home. My husband works a lot, so it’s usually just me and my kids, and it’s just easier to stay at home. I wish I could conquer my fears that we will be fine, just the tree of us, and check out all this state, country, and world have to offer
What will I do when fear is left behind? ~~ I will drop the clutter of mind, the clutter of surroundings, and the body clutter, to embrace the exciting challenges of caring for people and creatures God has placed along my path. Fear will no longer drive me to place the padding of distractions and interruptions between me and what is truly important in life. I will love, help, speak out, and encourage those who need a champion, because I know how it feels to yearn for a partner in life’s endeavors. And most of all, I will point them to the One who holds all the answers, power, and love to make it happen!

Wow! I truly love this! I have struggled with fear and doubt for as long as I can remember. If all this was gone what would I do? I would write a book and begin speaking. So many authors and speakers have inspired and encouraged me, and I would love to encourage and inspire other women in this way. Both of you, Kathi and Lynn, are among those. In fact you are the only two I have met in person so far (and I have photos). Thank you both for being bold and obedient! I am intrigued by this new bible study and it is definitely going on my list.
I so enjoy your podcasts. I listen to them during my commute. I appreciate all the people you share with us and Lynn is so encouraging. Thank you for sharing this book.
