Tomorrow I am going to the Willow Creek Leadership Summit (our church is a satellite host,) which I have done for the past four years.
This conference always leaves me so energized and motivate – that is until I get home and have to shovel out my desk to get anything done.
So your project for today is to get rid of 21 items in your “office” area. Whether that is a desk in your home office, or a drawer in the kitchen, get rid of 21 things that are just taking up space.
For those of you who are switching from paper to plastic-incased computers to hold your files, take a look at this great article on getting rid of outdated stuff from your office:
I thought authors were supposed to have messy desks and wear old sweaters!
I am SO inspired by this! In fact, I’m a few days earlier! LOL! I went through my office area and disposed of 1 large cardboard box, 2 brown paper sacks full, and several small sacks full of trash or JUNK! I actually have a bit further to go, but I’m trying to make small baby-steps because my husband and I share a space and I don’t want him to panic about throwing away his things too! LOL!!
OH…and while I cleaned out my desk drawers, I found: 1 Target gift card with $5 on it, 1 JC Penney gift card with $13 on it, 2 Dillards gift cards – one with $13 and the other a whopping $50, Hobby Lobby gift card with $20 on it, Macy’s gift card with $50, American Express gift card with $3, Walmart gift card with $2 and another Dillards card (my husband’s) with $50!
SEE WHAT YOU CAN FIND WHEN YOU CLEAN?!
Tho I claim to dislike clutter, if you looked at my desk you would NOT believe me ! This is one I have to do ! Drawers full of ???? and why did I keep it ? OUT it goes ! And that old roladex …why did I keep that ???
Thanks Kathi !
Ohhhh I am so jealous! We were going to go and I was psyched, but our church had to cancel for $$ reasons. Please please please blog about it! In the meantime, I have an office to tidy up! How did you know that I was procrastinating big time on that one?
