Let me know that you’re praying for your husband and each day we will have a drawing for one of our books. Today’s book is Praying God’s Word for Your Husband.
“If only he would listen to me . . .” Oh, that sentence has gotten me into so much trouble.
How many times have I thought that? If only my husband would take my advice, he would have a better job, be a better father, be healthier . . . (fill in the blank). When I’m trying to control my husband, what I’m really doing is trying to withhold him from God.
I want to be the kind of wife who spends twice as many words praying to God on my husband’s behalf as I do offering advice to my man. I know that what my husband thinks is nagging will drive a wedge between us, but when I pray for him, it draws us closer together.
SCRIPTURE
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.— James 5:16
PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, let me live openhandedly when it comes to my husband. Help me realize that my prayers on his behalf are more effective than any words I could speak to him. Let him always feel safe sharing his needs with me, knowing I will take them only to you.

Seriously the worst thing I’ve ever done for my marriage is to nag… Now it’s driven a wedge between us and I don’t know how to stop and trust God. *sigh* But I am praying for my husband…as well as praying that I will give this nagging business up and trust God!
i recently had a love spell cast on my partner last week after we both had a misunderstanding that almost lead to divorce and i was about losing my husband so a friend of my Natasha advice me to quickly order for reunite love spell that will make my husband change his mind from divorce which i did contact ekakaspelltemple@ yahoo.com after the casting of the spell i receive a call from husband apologizing to me on what happened i can’t thank you enough Dr ekaka you are indeed a god gifted spell caster.
Assumes he will listen to God better than you. Not finding that to be the case. Also, where does this fall when God tells us we are to confront each other in love? Seems no matter what I do, I’m wrong.

Praying all the time for my husband
I’m trying to remember to pray each day for the wonderful man that God has blessed me with. Started sending him words of encouragement randomly through the week and can see the difference it’s making.
Praying for my husband! I can see Gods hand in our lives!
I am praying for my husband!
I’m praying for my fiance. I feel like building him up through prayer is the perfect way to start our marriage.
I’m praying for wisdom in my husband’s decision to retire in the next few months.
Praying for my husband, he recently both of his knees replaced & I know its God’s healing that has gotten him back to work in 2 1/2 months!
I love to pray for my hubby, but often times I need a reminder. I also like to hear how others are praying for their husbands (it inspires me).
I am praying for my man too !
Yes! I am praying for my man today and everyday!
Praying for my husband, but especially for God to change me through praying for him.
This blog couldn’t have came at a better time in my life 🙂 I’m praying for my husband! <3
Praying my man hears from God more often than he hears from me.
Kathy – This couldn’t have been more perfect today! My husband is having health issues, coupled with starting a new job and having to travel back east, he is beyond stressed and can’t seem to “calm” himself down. I was at a loss for words to help encourage him this morning before he left for his flight. I will pray for him and trust that God will show him the path he has prepared for him.
With my husband on deployment, my kids and I pray every day for him! We are so proud of him but miss him terribly.
I pray daily that he is out of physical pain!
This is just what I needed to hear. I’m praying for my husband.

Praying for my husband and know it always works. Putting us in God’s hands is so much better for a couple of control freaks! Dave and I love The Lord, but not always each other or ourselves. Judy
Thank you for the fresh reminder of how important this is. It’s helpful to be specific in my prayers so your post was perfect today. THANK YOU!!!
I pray for my husband everyday! I pray also that I may be a godly influence to him.

I’m praying for my husband each day , I’m really will like to have this book.????????????????
I had forgotten that I had signed up to follow your blog on praying for your husband until it came across my email this morning.
My husband and I are going through a time of making some hard decisions for our family and I had asked a friend just this morning how to support my husband and make sure that the advice I am giving is the right advice. In her Godly wisdom she simply responded “Pray for him each and everyday and let him know you are doing so”. And then your email came across…I just love the way God works!
Praying for my husband today….and the next day….and the next day….
Thank you Kathi!
Prayed for my husband today. And prayed that if I say “If only” it should be followed by “I” not “my husband”.
I have started praying for my husband. It is awesome to see what a
difference it is making in our life. The power of prayer. It is changing me.
Prayed for my man! I see God changing my husband into the man, husband & father that He desire him to be.
Prayed for my man! Pray does make a change! I see God changing my husband into the man He desire him to be. NOW I must do my part and submit 😉
I’m praying for my man! I recently found your books and your blog! I really need to read this book!
This will be a good, daily reminder to start a habit doing something I only partially focus on. Thanks!
I have discovered that it is easy to focus most of my prayers on our children and grandchildren and others who needs seem to be screaming for prayer. My husband is a Godly wonderful man and just because his needs don’t scream for prayer doesn’t mean he doesn’t need them. Thank you for the timely reminder 🙂
So glad I subscribed to receive your blog updates daily:) I’ve prayed today & will keep praying
I’m praying! Would love to have the book!
I am praying for my man!
God has shown me that when I nag, I am not trusting Him to speak to my husband. I am committed to spending twice the words in prayer instead of nagging!
I am praying for my husband. I just had a conversation with him this morning about this same thing….getting out of the way so he can hear God speak! Nagging him has shown me that I’m not trusting God to speak to him. God is showing me that He does speak to my husband, I just need to wait quietly.
I’m praying for my man. . ,Day 1
Thanks for showing me that I need to pray for my husband every day.
I’m praying for my man…Day 1:)
I have been and will continue to pray for my husband! Thanks for what you are doing!
I am praying for my husband.
I’ve shared this with a group of friends who are also doing the husband project! Thank you for encouraging us to continue praying for our husbands!
Excited to start this journey with everyone. Especially after my husband just kept my 3 children under 3 for 3 days (that’s a lot of 3s) so I could go on our church women’s retreat. He is truly a blessing, and I definitely do not pray for him enough. Thanks for the challenge.
My husband is a pastor and I am looking forward to praying with you all for our husbands. We are going through a trial right now and I will be praying 2 verses: Ephesians 4:32 for forgiveness and 1 Corinthians 15:58 for diligence at work. Thanks for the challenge, I’m looking forward to encouraging my husband and growing myself!
I needed this. Thanks. Already prayed.
I’m praying for my husband, and we pray together now as well. 🙂
Starting this new endevour today. I want to spend more words praying to God about my husband than I do giving him advice. I pray this will change our marriage and save it.
I’m in! Excited to see what happens.
I loved this. Totally hit me over the head where it said I am with holding him from God. Ouch new way of praying for my husband.
Starting today I’m praying for my husband…because he told me last night (after a spiritual weekend thing he went to) that he’ll be praying for me everyday for the rest of his life! Nothing like hitting me in the head with a 2×4!
Praying that God refreshes, strengthens and restores my husband physically, emotionally and spiritually – as he boldly faces the challenges of this world.
Prayed today! Thanks for this encouragement Kathi!
I pray every day for a job for my husband. But the true prayer is so much deeper–for peace, that he would trust God to provide for our family, that He would truly know how valuable he is in both God’s sight and mine, and for wisdom for me to know how to communicate that my love for him isn’t based on how much money he brings in.
Starting my day right now praying for him!!
I pray for peace for my husband and that he is filled with the joy of the Lord.
@Peggy-I feel the same way as well! 🙂
Praying:).
“I want to be the kind of wife who spends twice as many words praying to God on my husband’s behalf as I do offering advice to my man.” ME TOO! I’ve been trying to pray more scripture for my husband. I would love to win your book!
I’m praying for my husband. I can see God working in him, and it’s beautiful!
When we were first married (20 years ago) I would pray that God would change what ever was bugging me about my husband at the time. You know “God please make him more timely, he’s always late”. As I was complaining about him to friend, she said something that changed my perspective. “If you’re unhappy with him, someone else won’t be”. It was shortly after that I started praying for God to make me the wife he wanted me to be. Change me, not him! It dramatically effected our marriage in a positive way.
I’ve recently started praying daily for my husband! I think it’s changing me more than him!
I am praying daily for my husband!
Thank you! Although I pray daily for my husband, I often forget that I should include prayers for wisdom of my words.
You would think after many years of marriage I would get it!
A funny thing happens when I pray for him
..I change..
my heart grows softer..
I love him more and better! Thanks be to God!
Have been praying, will continue to pray for my husband.
My husband & I went through a pretty rough patch not too long ago in our marriage of almost 25 yrs. I had come to accept Christ as my Lord & Savior & my hubby was still on the wrong path that would only lead to destruction. When we separated, I earnestly prayed for him for three days straight. Long story short, God heard my cries & pleas. My husband has come to know Christ & is now leading our family as Christ calls for husbands to lead their families. He now dedicates his life to leading others to Christ. Our God is a God of miracles and indeed answers prayers. ~Rose
I am praying for my husband of 11 years. He is of the Jewish faith though non practicing, He has always been supportive of my Christian faith. He does attend church with me even though he does not believe in Jesus Christ but I have reached a point of my life where I do not know if I can go on this way. I love Jesus with all my heart and soul and its just hard being married to a non believer. That and many other issues such a step parenting are really taking a toll on our marriage after all this time. I just turned 50 and I am just miserable. I have been miserably married for many years now. I heard about your “Pray for your man project” on Star 99.1 and I know God hears prayers so count me in. I do not even know if I still love him as more than a friend and I do not want to grow old this way.
I am praying for my husband!
I am praying for my husband. Thank you for this opportunity.
If I’m praying for my husband, I think my love for him will increaseI may not be so quick to criticize, so i’ll be praying
I am praying for my husband. I appreciate your wisdom.
I am praying for my husband
Praying for my hubby, Kathi. Thank you!
Praying for my husband!
Thanks for the reminder that he is in His hands. Praying that I will put him in God’s hands and let go of control.
Pray for my husband often, but not daily. Need to make this a habit and also get some ideas to keep it fresh and keep me motivated. Your book sounds like a great way to do that.
Wow, love this. Praying for my hubby for 12 years now. Such a valid point to keep in mind about nagging versus praying!
praying for my husband of 2 years, 3 months and 27 days 😉
Praying for direction for my husband. We are small business owners and he brings a majority of the vision to the table. He needs wisdom and open doors.
Thanks for this series, Kathi. I prayed for the Lord to draw my husband to him-and he has! Now I pray for the continued restoration of our marriage, for me to be the godly wife I never was, and for my husband to forgive me and see” the new creation” I am and that I support him and have his back now!
Praying for Darren, my husband of 20 years
I’m joining in on Praying for my husband

Praying hard for Godbto draw my husband close and to transform me into the wife he needs.
Making it a priority to pray for my husband!
Well, as usual, God’s timing is perfect. I needed to hear that (and pray this) for my hubby today.
Needed to read this, at this very moment. It’s amazing how God works, He truly is our Living Father. My prayer today, most def…more praying for my hubby. .. no more nagging. Lord, help me.
What a wonderful post. I have definitely learned through the years that nagging doesn’t help him or our relationship and have stopped doing that. However, I definitely realize (until I read your post) that thinking or saying “If only he/you listened to me…” is me trying to control him. Instead, I will pray on my husband’s behalf more. Thank you for this post!
