For the past few years I have cut the return address from the envelope of Christmas cards we receive and taped it on the back of the card. It doesn’t take very much room to store just the card until next year and I have the most current address. The thing I really like about doing this is that I re-read and enjoy the correspondence from the ones I’m sending to NEXT year, as I’m writing. Often, there was something in a particular card that I can mention in this year’s card to that person.
This will not take the place of a new address book or computer program for day-to-day needs (google/gmail has a great set-up for that), but I have sure enjoyed it at Christmas.
That is REALLY thoughtful, Beth!!
I would love help in this area! I have been using the same address book since 1994 and it is on it’s last leg. So much has been scribbled out, etc that it is no longer efficient for me. But I’m no techy so I don’t know where to being storing this info on my computer. Is there an address program? Or something universal for contacts? If I’m going to take the time to type out my couple hundred contacts, I’d like it to be in the best, user-friendly place. Thank you!
Kristine, I am hoping that you have found something to help with this issue, but for others, a great website is http://www.postable.com.
