Watching people who approach God truly as a loving Father has really helped me. When I think about how much I delight in hearing from my own sons, I get a little idea of how much God loves hearing from us! No frills. Just closeness.
Thank you so much for this! For years I was in a church that stressed completely reading through the Bible each year. Some of those years I would feel that the Lord wanted to me to study a specific topic instead. As a home schooling mother I was hard pressed to spend any time in God’s Word, let alone trying to do two different reading studies. I would finally give up on the idea of a subject study because my pastor put so much emphasis on a specific Bible Reading schedule. I’m no longer at that church but have still be reading through the Bible at a much slower pace. Thanks for the reminder to ask the Lord for His guidance in this area. I’ll be doing that from now on.

I love this!! This is what I needed. I struggle in the quiet time with God of hoping I get it right and thinking what I say or do is so simple and should be more astounding. Thank you for the suggestion. I am going to try this this week.
