(Part 2)
Kathi and Jen Hatmaker, who needs no introduction, are talking about all the things and how to make a difference in the world. Too much of everything led Jen to a social experiment that she lays out in the book Simple and Free. Listen to Kathi and Jen candidly talk about how to get over some of those internal dialogues that lead to believing more stuff makes us happy and discover the truth about:
How finances and clutter go together
How lending each other courage and resolve has a contagious effect
How fear, guilt and shame keep us trapped
Overwhelmed: How to Quiet the Chaos and Restore Your Sanity
Feeling overwhelmed? Wondering if it’s possible to move from “out of my mind” to “in control” when you’ve got too many projects on your plate and too much mess in your relationships?
Kathi and Cheri want to show you five surprising reasons why you become stressed, why social media solutions don’t often work, and how you can finally create a plan that works for you. As you identify your underlying hurts, uncover hope, and embrace practical healing, you’ll become equipped to:
trade the to-do list that controls you for a calendar that allows space in your life
decide whose feedback to forget and whose input to invite
replace fear of the future with peace in the present
You can simplify and savor your life—guilt-free! Clutter, tasks, and relationships may overwhelm you now, but God can help you overcome with grace.
Kathi and Cheri Gregory, co-author of Overwhelmed, get together for this episode for a little discussion regarding the concepts of being overwhelmed and being clutter-free. So often we find that our clutter overwhelms us and that being overwhelmed contributes to our clutter. It can be a vicious cycle.
Kathi and Cheri discuss five steps to keep from getting overwhelmed as you declutter your home, your heart, and your life. Order your copy of Overwhelmed here.

Jen Hatmaker
The high-level stuff: I’ve written several books including NY Times bestsellersFor the LoveandOf Mess and Moxie. I host theFor the Love Podcastwhich has won a bunch of awards, and Ispeak all over the country. I created theJen Hatmaker Book Clubwhere I nerd out every month with thousands of women who believe good books are everything and stories still matter. I lead an online community of millions of women, and they are my life force, personal think tank, and comic relief.
The low-level stuff: I still use a paper calendar which you will pry out of my cold, dead hands. I also use my original AOL email account unironically. I love cooking but am a terrible teacher in the kitchen because I just want all those kids to leave me alone. Big fan of 90’s country music. I can drive a boat and pull kids on a tube. I secretly like Totino’s frozen pizza which costs like $1.19 and I’m not sorry. I don’t like sad movies; never seen a Nicholas Spark film. My favorite show is CBS Sunday Morning. We live in a 1908 farmhouse which is very creaky and thus helpful while raising teenagers who might want to leave at 3:30am. I love concerts but only when we can sit down now; we aren’t Olympians. The Secret Garden was my first favorite book. I drink Almond Joy Flavored Creamer in my coffee and won’t be reformed. These are all the important facts of my life (favorite Facts of Life character: Jo).
